UNDERWATER HULL CLEANING
Our company uses new (Brush-Kart 4X4 Triple Heads) ecological machines in order to provide fast and quality total ship cleaning by using special brushes in order to avoid the paint loss.
Hull cleaning equipment consist of three brushes that perform rotational motion, with freedoms, so as not to cause damage to the marine paints by the underwater cleaning of the ship. These machines use all the advantages of New Technology and have high total output 4.000-4.500 Sq. meters per hour/each.
They are also very environment friendly and they don’t damage the paintwork of the ship. With new hull cleaning equipment we achieve, reducing cleaning time and carrying out hull cleaning operations in relatively harsh weather conditions.
Design of Ippokampos
The unique design of the Ippokampos Diving series of underwater hull cleaning units provides the efficiency and durability demanded by the harsh underwater environment. All systems are carefully constructed so that no damage will occur to those hull coatings which are suitable for underwater cleaning, while still completely removing all types of fouling.
This restores a vessel’s performance to as close to its optimum condition as possible and offers shipowners considerable savings in fuel.
Ippokampos Diving has a policy not to carry out underwater cleaning activities which result in an increase of pollution by spreading large amounts of toxic materials used in many underwater hull coatings.
Whatever coating is applied to your vessel conventional antifouling, low surface energy silicon coatings or no antifouling at all the Brush-Kart hull cleaning vehicle will remove marine growth without damaging the substrate, subject to correct usage and brush selection.
In case of silicon paints, nylon – teflon – polypropylene bristled brushes are applied. In that manner, optimum cleaning results are achieved and vessel’s vehicle fuel economy as well as efficiency is improved, having avoided any hull’s paint damage.
A thorough examination of the hull’s marine growth and fuel consumption constitutes a necessary prerequisite for the implementation of proper cleaning method.
